I just got off the phone with Robyn Johnson and she confirmed that she will be there this Thursday night to speak to us about the current lending environment including some credit score information. She’s planning on being there at 6:30-ish to answer any questions before-hand and we’ll get the meeting proper started at 7:00.
We will also be having a short presentation by College Hunks Hauling Junk.

We will have our March meeting next Thursday, March 25 as planned. Following the great information we received from Scott Grummer last month regarding what is happening in the downtown LR area, I have asked Ron Copeland to speak to us regarding the future of the University District area. For those who do not know, that is the area around UALR in Little Rock. They have prepared very impressive plans for change and initiatives have already started within the area.
We will meet at the regular place and time: Crye-Leike offices 3400 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock 7:00–8:30pm, with doors opening at 6:30 for networking and deal-making.
I, for one, am very excited to hear the details for this area of Little Rock. Join us!

For the majority of the short lifetime of this association, Scott Grummer was our president. A year ago, he stepped down to focus on his work with the Downtown Little Rock CDC. I have asked him to make a return, but this time as the speaker. He will let us know what is going on in terms of future and current development in the downtown area. Plus, he’s just a good guy that knows a lot about local real estate. I am excited to hear what he has for us.

We are having John Lessel, a local attorney, come and give us a presentation and pointers on business formation (which entity to choose and how to protect yourself and your assets).

We will be hearing from John Pendleton about the perception of the Arkansas real estate market to outsiders. He will also give us some information on utilizing the first time homebuyer’s tax credits to our advantage.
I will also be going over some exciting developments that have been brewing over the past month as well as update you on how to get your National benefits.

I just wanted everyone to know that all the paperwork (and money) to get us into the National REIA is probably somewhere in Kentucky by now. It’s been a long road to this point and we appreciate everyone’s effort who participated in getting this done and everyone’s patience who kept hearing us say “one more month”. =)
So here’s the plan for the next couple of meetings. This coming meeting (March 26), we will be discussing current deals, answering any questions and going over what being in National REIA means for our association. We’ll go over our bylaws, mission statement, benefits of National association and more. We are hoping to have some packets of information for everyone to take with them that will have all that in there.
By March 26, we hope to be accepted into National, but even if we’re not, we’ll go over the benefits at this coming meeting.
On April 30, we are hoping to have a sort-of kickoff meeting for our new Association. We are talking about doing some advertising and press releases to try to bump up the attendance level for the new year. There will be a guest speaker to talk about some current real estate trends he is seeing, how we can utilize those to increase our profits and throw in some motivational content as well to get us re-pumped up. Spring is here (and it’ll definitely be here by April 30) and it’s time to kick out of the winter doldrums and get moving! Make some money!
Anyway, I hope you are all having great months of more deals than you can handle. And if you do have more deals than you can handle, post them here and we’ll give some advice (or maybe just take the deal over for you). =)

Because of a move by Mike Zanoff to Crye-Leike, our meeting place has been indefinitely moved to the Crye-Leike building at 3400 JFK in North Little Rock.
The meeting this month will be on Jan 29th. We look forward to seeing everyone there to start the new year out right.
